Description Kenbu dancers. The boys are holding fans and swords. Wearing 'hakama' pants sewn like judo outfits to strengthen them. Cherry blossom mungs. Minoru's mother made the outfit that he wears. Below the boys are Japanese words, they are the lyrics to the song they dance to. Actually, Minoru was the star and his stage name, 'Inaga Gitsuliu', is at the left. Means something like dancer of historical warring events. 'Minoru' itself means 'to bear'. The song's name is 'Yamasaki Nishini Saleba'. The dance is about wars between clans. A very long dance and Minoru was the star even though he won't admit to it. He danced it alone. Komoto gave him the stage name. (12) resided in Kona through donations. He came with Shibai as an actor and then, married a Kona girl, Yoshihara, and moved to Honolulu. Her brother's name was Hoichi, a 1925 Konawaena graduate. Minoru Inaba says that the Shibai came annually and performed where Goro has a service station today, where Suenaga Soloon was. There was a lawn in front of the stage, built where the Japanese Chamber of Commerce building was. Boys went early in the p.m. and staked out the family area with tatami and set up a hibachi, etc. After the performances, the kids scoured the lawn for money. (07) was Hisashi's brother; (09) father was a blacksmith; (12) was from Japan, taught kenbu; (16) was coffee farmer above Manuel Freitas' home
